“But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” Matthew 6:3-4
This is a creative and sharing ministry designed for women to enrich secretly the life of a sister within the Tusculum family. The goal is to acknowledge special occasions such as her birthday, anniversary, and holidays with cards and small gifts. This ministry is voluntary and is not intended to be costly or time consuming but fun and exciting. Each spring at the Ladies’ Breakfast, secret sisters reveal their identities and all women are given the opportunity to become someone’s secret sister for the next year.
The leaders of this ministry provide information about the program and are a point of contact for those involved. They attend the Ladies’ Breakfast to coordinate the secret sister drawing and to keep a record of all participants and their secret sisters.
Outreach & Service
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” Colossians 3:23-24
This is a serving ministry designed to reach out to ladies in need within our community by partnering with existing organizations such as health awareness, addiction, domestic violence, or rape crisis groups to help them serve those in need. The goal is to be a light to those ladies in need of the SON.
The leaders of this ministry must research organizations that would welcome and benefit from our cooperation, work closely with those groups to organize events, inform the Communication Leader of any activities scheduled so that notice can be given to all ladies, and attend the quarterly activities and service projects. Women who commit to this ministry need to attend each activity over the course of the year to ensure that there is enough help to carry out the service project; however, all women are invited to be a part of any quarterly activity.
And he said: “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me.” Matthew 18:4-6
This is a playful and loving ministry designed to serve children and their parents during the Sunday morning worship time. In addition to keeping watch over our little ones, volunteers assist in cleaning up the nursery. Each volunteer serves a few times a year. Typically, three attendants monitor the children each Sunday morning. Schedules are posted and mailed every three months, so all volunteers have ample opportunity to notify an alternate if they are unavailable at their scheduled time.
The leader(s) of this ministry make quarterly schedules for volunteers, verify that each volunteer reports for her scheduled duty, obtains last-minute alternates, insures that the nursery is clean and pagers are turned off after each service, maintains the budget and expenses for the nursery, purchases necessary items for the nursery, and washes linens as necessary. We ask leaders to make a 1-2 year commitment.

This is a warm and inviting ministry designed to welcome new members to the Tusculum family. Participants prepare and/or deliver to new Tusculum members welcome baskets filled with a variety of homemade and bought items. This ministry is a wonderful way to become acquainted with our new members.
