“…what we are in word by letters when we are absent, such we will also be in deed when we are present.” 2 Corinthians 10:11
This is an informative and creative ministry designed to communicate the events and needs of the Ladies Ministry. Included in this ministry is the Tusculum Tie, the Circle of Friends email list, the Service Directory and Mass Media.
The leader(s) of the Communication Ministry are responsible for any mass media needed for the Ladies Ministry. These may include brochures, post card mailers, pictures, and PowerPoint presentations. They will also assist with the Tusculum Tie, the Circle of Friends email list and the service directory, as needed. We ask leaders for a 1-2 year commitment.
- The Tusculum Tie is our very own women’s news publication. It is currently produced once per quarter. It includes information and pictures about Ladies’ events and provides an opportunity for Tusculum women to utilize their writing talents by contributing articles.
- The Circle of Friends email list reaches many women quickly and efficiently with prayer requests and activity announcements. It is an opportunity for women to share in prayer one another’s daily struggles and joys.
- The Service Directory is a listing of the talents, services, or businesses of Tusculum members. This directory will be updated every three years and made available to every Tusculum family.
- The website will also include a calendar and other information related to the Ladies’ Ministry.
“Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:11-12
As a connecting and bridging ministry, Friends Friday was created to assist new women members in becoming more quickly assimilated into the Tusculum family, to help veteran members become acquainted with new members as well as build upon existing relationships, and to bridge the generation gap by including women from all ages. Friends Friday meetings are conducted in an informal but structured home setting. The goal is to become acquainted at the meetings and create a desire in each woman to build upon those relationships outside the meetings so that we may grow closer to God and to each other.
The leaders of this ministry maintain an updated list of women at Tusculum, their Sisters and Friends’ names, and data about who has and has not been invited to meetings. The ministry leaders work with the hostesses to coordinate the annual meeting.
The hostesses are responsible for deciding the activity, inviting women to the meeting, serving simple refreshments or asking guests to bring an item.
“May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus.” Romans 15:5
This is a fun and rejuvenating ministry designed to provide opportunities for women to develop new friendships and enhance old friendships while increasing our love for each other and our Savior. All women are encouraged to contribute suggestions for activities.
The leaders of this ministry are responsible for planning one activity each quarter. Some may be annual events such as the annual Ladies’ Breakfast, hosted and coordinated by the Elders’ Wives each spring, and others may change from year to year. Events may or may not be at the building. Examples include movie or game nights, trips to plays, festivals, ball games, etc. We ask leaders for a 1-2 year commitment.
“Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.” Titus 2:3-5
This is an intimate relationship-building ministry designed to facilitate opportunities for Tusculum women to mentor those who desire to be spiritually led through the various stages of life by a more experienced woman. This is accomplished through gatherings, classes, and personal contacts according to the needs and desires of the participants.
This ministry is in the developmental stages. At this time, we foresee that the leaders of this ministry will organize gatherings, provide classes or study materials for the participants, and encourage relationship building.
