What is a Life Group?

A typical Life Group consists of approximately 8 to 15 people, and provides opportunities for study, prayer, relationship building, and service.

What is the purpose of Life Groups?

The Tusculum Mission is to grow followers of Jesus through Worship, Connection, and Service. Life Groups exist to help fulfill that mission, with a heavy emphasis on the connection aspect. Life Groups help a church to grow large by staying small, by forming small communities of believers who walk together with Jesus for a season.

Where do Life Groups meet?

Life Groups meet just about everywhere Tusculum members live and work:  homes, offices, restaurants, parks, and even the church building.

When do Life Groups meet?

Life Groups on average meet 2 to 4 times per month.  Most of the meetings are on Sunday evenings, but some groups choose to meet at other times during the week.

How long do Life Groups stay together?

Most groups stay together between 3 and 12 months before multiplying, reorganizing, or dissolving. However, there are some groups that are ongoing.

What about my kids 5th grade and down?

How kids are handled is decided on a group-by-group basis. Some groups are  “kid friendly”, depending on the makeup and focus of the group. Some groups include their children, and members take turns teaching the kids a lesson while the adults meet together.

What about kids 6th grade and up?

We also have Life Groups for teens, called “treKs”. The treKs are handled by the TYM (Tusculum Youth Ministry). Please contact Rob Touchstone, Youth Minister,  for info on how to get your teen involved in a treK.
